o man.. o game is depressing.. fleet crashed by a 274 BS fleet. They don't even bother wasting any other types of ships on me. It's just, like, a wad of whatever battleships they had left over from their last death star battle.
Hey Nanich, want my account? I just logged in to see how it was doing... and I've been ignored. All my planets are sitting on top of 100k+ resources. Of course there is no fleet and no defenses... I went ahead and finished researching Battleships for you, if you're interested.
It's just a numbers-oriented progress quest.. like any other game in existance.
Pretty sweet if that's what you're into.
The one downside of Ogame is, I think you can get smacked around more easily than on BM, if you forget to play for like ONE day. Also Ogame is kind of repetitive.. dispatch probes, build, send ships.. occasionally you get the excitement of someone attacking you, and you have to scramble to build/ship some resources.
Still, I appear to have played it for 2 months or so, so it must have something going on. That's partly due to the sweet little clan we have going. (Uni 14 remember.) You'll have to read through the manual and forums for approximately one hour to get a good grasp of 90% of the strategy involved.
It has its good points and its bad points... I quit because there is a lot of tedious management that takes up a lot of time that wasn't that fun for me. Some people like probing for undefending/weak planets and then sending a fleet to go get the resources, but it was too much work for me to look anywhere other than a few solar systems away. On the plus side, I thought that the tech research and building construction part was cool. You can't lose those to another player, either, so getting attacked is not much of a disaster. In fact, if you keep your fleet of ships in flight at all times, and keep every penny of your resources spent, you are unassailable. But that requires too much investment of time for me.
