My idea is that refineries be taken out of the production calculations and instead be a construction option. So for example I have 4 sand, I would like to refine it to 1 Glass so I can trade it away.
Just an idea.

I've heard that suggestion before. It's not going to happen because that would make multiple refineries useless, and I like all new objects to sort of come into being at one time. Everything's written that way, I'm not going to so radically alter the game at this stage. Unless someone gives me money!

Could you, however, give an option to only use ONE of the Refineries?
Otherwise, I have to actually scrap a whole refinery...
Basically, if you want to use your Factory (3 Pollution) and one Refinery (1 Pollution : Total 4 Coal) to make, say, a Diamond (so +8 for the Diamond) and then a Diamond Drill using that Diamond (say you already had one)... Instead of, for example, having to make two diamonds (6 Coal total, plus 16 for Diamonds)
It's a big difference between using 12 Coal and using 22 Coal... and what if I didn't want that extra Diamond?
The only alternative I see is scrapping a whole Refinery, but then if I ever want it again I have to shell out even more, and that seems kind of ridiculous, as it's possible enough for me to shut down ALL refining, but not all of it?
(It might be possible, of course, to set my Firepower high enough, but what if I don't want to do this? And wouldn't that simply Refine twice, and then simply not manufacture, instead?)
Just seems like it really, really ought to be an option...
