Is URO considered less valuable than Diamond by Ramul, even though it is put as most valuable in other circumstances? I tried to buy something from Ramul, and he asked for 1 Diamond and 2 EUR. I wanted to keep the Diamond, so I set it to MVO. His new request was 5 URO and 2 EUR. Is Diamond really 5 times more valuable than URO, or does Ramul only perceive base and refined, and therefore considers URO to be the same as BXT or PIRN?

URO comes after most refined (where "after" means "more valuable"). I know Rasteroid's preference isn't for us to be utilizing Ramul, but I've found myself on multiple occasions wishing I could specify which 2 or 3 items I'm offering. I can usually come close by manipulating MVO and LVO, but not always and it's frustrating.

Well, the values for Ramul I chose pretty arbitrarily. I kind of don't like attaching solid conversion rates between objects, since in different circumstances each will be worth more or less.
For interest, and please don't bug me about it too much, here's the function where Ramul gets his values from. (Of course, these go through more manipulation depending on Tech Level, contacts, some other values, etc. etc.) It should give you an idea of how I ranked the objects.
65 function baseval ($ob) { 66 $price=8; 67 if ($ob=='coal') { $price=1; } 68 elseif ($ob=='bauxite' or $ob=='sand' or $ob=='pig iron') { $price= 2; } 69 elseif ($ob=='uranium ore') { $price=4; } 70 elseif ($ob=='food') { $price=12; } 71 elseif ($ob=='diamond') { $price=14; } 72 elseif ($ob=='enriched uranium') { $price=16; } 73 elseif ($ob=='aid') { $price=24; } 74 elseif ($ob=='diamond drill') { $price=30; } 75 elseif ($ob=='icbm') { $price=36; } 76 return $price; 77 }

Ah, so although he'll ask for URO later, he sees diamond as being far more valuable.

So, how do I tell him, "Psst. Hey man... wanna buy some URO and EUR?" If I LVO the URO, he'll start there, but then go after all other non-refined, refined, and diamonds before trying my EUR. I can only MVO one of those to say, "hands off, buddy." If I LVO the EUR, he'll grab all of that, then start going after all other non-refined, refined, then URO. I can only MVO one of those to say, "hands off, buddy." As a URO miner, I often have URO and EUR in fairly ample supply, and I know they're valuable, and I know you fare better in larger trades than smaller ones. But I'm having difficulty working with Ramul. (I know, I know... Rasteroid doesn't really want us dealing with Ramul in the first place, so there's no real motivation to make it easier.)

Yep. I'm also a URO miner and it sure is like that.
Similar to how in combat, if you have 5 EUR and 5 BXT, you can't fire 1 EUR and 5 BXT, you have to fire the 5 EUR first.
There sure are limitations on how precisely you can specify what goes on with your inventory in some cases. It's a trade-off of precise control for a relatively uncomplicated interface, and I prefer to keep complexity down.

Hm, odd. Ramul currently wants 3 Diamonds for 2 URO, but wants 3 Diamonds + 1 PIRN + 1 BXT + 1 EUR for 2 Sand...

Nevermind My fiddling happened just before and after Rast changed the Black Market rules.
