Well first things first as I was picking up the controls I built an outpost and attacked my neighbor. Big no no. Lost my n00b shield. Whoops. Many thanks to Rast for reinstating it while I continue learning the basics of the game

Next thing I really experimented with was how the F do I get to do tech upgrades? I had the academy, but they would only thank me for keeping the lights on. The Anarchists had seized power and I guess they got along well enough with the Academics. Changed to Technocracy out of personal choice (no initial reason, glad now that I did!) and was able to research. Huzzah!

Thanks Iuewen! I agree it's got a slight learning curve but I'm getting to the top of this rollercoaster soon!
Another quick note Rast, while reading the manual and appendix sect 22.1.8 mine cost is different than in the game. I think I like having it being equally steel or alu, since they are harvested/processed at the same rates.

I'm also excited for when I get some windmill tech and play around with that. Is it 5 or 4 though? seems to be conflicting info in 22.1.12 Windmill section. I'm starting to guess that this is part of the Beta testing, trying to get ratios right and whatnot?
right, you start with anarchy.. I have to change that "we need the academy" message to mention that you have no academy powers because of being in anarchy.
That's pure YAFM fodder, something about being too busy debating over the last remaining scraps of Bakunin's work (Or Stirner's, or whatever author with ties to anarchy, bonus points if chosen randomly from a pool of 4-5 authors))

Well I think I've got the trade thing down, I'm very happy that many players have traded with me. I do find myself going to the Black Market a lot to get materials at the last second to tech, because I'm affraid of losing the resources to corruption/war/overflow/etc.
I have about 4-5 more major things I want to implement, and then the full map algorithm, probably a month and a half or so. Then I will be looking at doubling or tripling the number of players we have, or quickly pushing ahead with a full open beta of one to two hundred players. This will involve a total reset, once they game knows how to handle map arrangements by itself.
So, I'm hoping we get to powersinks in that time, but we aren't going to see Doomsday for a while yet.
