Are tithes based on the amount of an object you have, or just he presence or absence of them?
Example: Say that all you have is 40 coal and 1 ICBM. If you're tithed one item, does the Master have a 50 - 50 chance of getting the ICBM, or a 1 in 41 chance of getting it?
I've noticed that my most valuable (and rare) items always seem to go quickly when being tithed, so I'm wondering if stocking up on more of other items will make that less likely.

Rasteroid has suggested that flooding your inventory with a particular resource will indeed make that resource more likely to get tithed. I imagine it is similar to the Random Event selection, but instead of going from 1..70 , just going up to your inventory... if your most valuable resource keeps getting tithed, that is pretty bad luck... Definitely try to flood your inventory with other stuff

I asked Rast this exact same question and he claimed the chance was 1 in 41, not 50/50.

Yep. I'm sure I'll have to make this point again, but it is indeed as JC says. A random list of ALL your objects, not just one of each type of object you have, is made. Then however many you're tithed is taken off the top.

I've also asked this and got the same response. It seems it would only be a 1 in 41 chance. You probably are inclined to think your most valubles are most likely to go, because you remember when they do! As in, if the 1 in 41 chance happened, you're going to think, "Oh, the evil bastard stole my ICBM!" whereas if he takes a Coal, you're unlikely to remember it.
