So, Tetsujin are new and cool. Discuss. Okay, so, I think you should be able to store hordes of Diplomats in them, and they shouldn't be all "omg I am horded with spies, attack me lolz" , but hey, I like sharing my love. Also I'll send Rasteroid a free Diamond to commemorate the Tetsujin Yay for Tetsujin. I want to be able to give him a little flag, too...

I can't wait to use one, but I have my suspicions about their shortcomings.

YAY! Here we go, little Tetsujin!
There ought to be a way to increase his hold. Perhaps just make it if you try to manufacture a new Tetsujin on top of your old one, it'll make him bigger by one. There'd be a purple Tetsujin that's holding spies and items.
It wouldn't be broken (it's cheaper than Hull Upgrades, but anyone adjacent to you can easily attack and destroy your hard work, so you'll have to be careful, or keep him in the ocean whenever you can).
It might be nice to allow him to move extra spaces in exchange for using up stored Coal. You'd have to have a fairly big Tetsujin in order to wander far using this, but the world map is getting really big, so moving all across it with the Tetsujin is going to take ages at the current rate...

I plan on adding more ways to play with Tetsujin, to be sure.
I won't give you a lot of details right now, gotta let the anticipation build a bit.

Rather than an infinitely upgradeable Tetsujin, I see more mileage in a Tetsujin that can be upgraded a limited number of times provided you have sufficient tech level, and which would be able to carry more, take more damage, and move faster as it is upgraded. Oh, and duel with other Tetsujins. Muhahaha.
But it sounds like Rast has already made up his mind about these fellas.

I remember this game I used to play with a friend of mine where you built a robot to fight in an arena and you could buy new parts for it between fights and train it and stuff. Ah, such beautiful memories. Such flexible and enjoyable versus fighting games seem to be a thing of the past, much to my sorrow.

Here's an idea! Let other people put things into your empty Tetsujin if it's in their land.
That way, once I send someone something across the map, my Tetsujin isn't a useless danger (ie I lose stuff if someone attacks it)...

I like that idea. It could also allow someone to use your own Tets as a Trojan Horse to bring in one of their spies, although that wouldn't work very well if they showed up as spy-filled, I guess.
Hey, what about a new Powersink: Robotics Facility
Allows you to research and build upgrades for you Tetsujin, and equip the Tets with it. There could be a cloaking device, which makes the Tets look to be the same color, regardless of what they're carrying, a storage hold for extra items, a reactor core for extra moves, armor plating for extra health, an arm cannon for battle with other Tets... The possibilities are endless!

The danger of all these fun ideas is that people start playing the game through their Tets instead of their battle mines.

What if you could send private messages with them?

The danger of all these fun ideas is that people start playing the game through their Tets instead of their battle mines. And what exactly is wrong about that?

Um. Battle Mines? Hello?

Perhaps Rast can make another, minigame. It'd be callted Battle Tetsujin, and it would use your Tetsujin from Battle Mines. You'd be able to move your Tetsujin to and from the Battle Tetsujin game from your tile, and it would cost 1 Move to do so. Battle Tetsujin would have cycles the same as Battle Mines, and still give you Moves. Every action the Tetsujin takes in Battle Tetsujin (including returning, which costs 1 Move) will cost 1 Move, such as working on improving total Moves by 0.1 (but you'd require +1 total to get any effect in Battle Mines, and it's easy to defeat!) or improving Defense or adding a cannon improvement, and so on. And people's Tetsujin will have the opportunity to make a Challenge for 1 Move, too, which would fight with another player's Tetsujin, winning resources from the Tetsujin (if you've got space and they have something) or Moves (if they have Moves left) or damaging their progress (if neither). Hmm
