Since there are fewer players nowadays, what about reducing the zonewidth by a square or two? Part of the fun is running into other players now and again, and with the world so big, it doesn't happen very often.
I don't know if that would require a land-reset to be sure that all the temples that would be off the map are removed, but it might be worth it even if that's the case.

This might be a good idea. I rarely see anyone nowadays.
as long as we don't have to re-explore the map again. that suuucks.

Re-exploring does suck, but I think that's the easiest way to get this change to happen. I don't think rast wants to spend any more time on GoG, even though it's so awesome.
Re-exploring only lasts a few weeks usually - and with a smaller world radius, it should go even more quickly.

that's true, a smaller radius would mean less exploring. could we also do something about the ridiculous cost of exploring? i explored a square the other day and it cost me like 8 moves or something gaytarded like that. and it seems to be different every time. is it faith based? i say make exploring a flat fee... like 2 or 3 moves for everyone no matter what. i avoid exploring at all costs at the moment.

I also avoid exploring at all costs, but I guess if we want to propose that as a change we should probably start a new topic. Don't want to have this change ignored because we've implied that it needs to come with an exploration cost reduction, IMO.

Ok, I've reduced it by 1. I may tie it in to the number of players later, if it becomes an issue. (ie, we get lots of players.)

sweet, hopefully this will provide the world with more chaos and death.
of course i got SCREWED. i was saving up my pope regen rate before i logged in again, but with the change in the world radius i got moved off my igloo onto a random space in the tundra and had shitty regen.
