There was a time, back before it was coded, when ascention was proposed to cause the land to reset. What if it did so, but in addition, the ascending player could choose that the world was one zone-width bigger, or one zone-width smaller (and maybe there would be maximums or minimums, just to be safe).
I think that would be cool.

was it just the land or did all your skills get reset too? i seem to remember that being mentioned... cause that would suck for noobs just getting into the game when a long time players ascends and resets everything. i think it would be very discouraging... even to old players like me. some people would just be getting skills and into the fun part of the game when BOOM.. back to the start.
resetting the land only would be fine... but as long as you don't have to re-explore the map. here we are months after the last reset and there's still huge blocks of unexplored territory.
so maybe resetting the land and removing all the temples so everyone's back at the same point but noone (except the ascender) loses their skills.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, sorry if I wasn't clear. Only the geography is reset. Part of the reason there's so much unexplored territory is because I think there are few players, so there's little competition for land, so no one goes into the dark places.
