It's kind of funny, the only way to stop me from hassling you is to remain my vassal. As long as you keep re-vassalizing me, I can just keep firing shells back at you without any consequences or cost. You're better off trying to become someone else's vassal, or bribe me off, so that it costs me the extra Glass (or five) to re-vassalize you.

Quick question IJ: Would you say your current posture is incredibly easy to maintain, or just fairly easy to maintain? I will be modifying/nerfing a few things, but I don't want to be too heavy handed.

But, how exactly do you expect me to behave?

Just be thankful I'm too lazy to Ramul up some EUR and land exchange you.

Rast - It's borderline incredibly easy to maintain. This is probably because nobody else is attempting to vassalize other people, so it requires less of my effort to maintain multiple vassals, as I hardly lose any on a consistent basis. The only thing that psi is getting all bent out of shape over is the fact that I can keep attacking him and poach his coal stores via vassal trades. The fix might be to limit the power of vassal trades (number of times they can be accepted per 6 hours perhaps?)

I don't want anyone quietly weeping themselves to sleep at night, which is what I know I would do if you got so mad at me or I got so mad at somebody.

I don't want you subconsciously getting all jaded and quitting your job because you suddenly hate this game and all things IJ-dominated.

You could probably hurt him more by stealing his vassals.

IJ: keep my artist sweating bullets, he won't rest until the world is perfect and neither will I.

I'd rather not limit the vassal trades in any way, kinda complicates things. I'm sure we can figure this out.

Psi, why don't you build more cannons so your firepower is higher? Is it really crippling you to be without coal? I don't remember reading that before.

He mentioned it in chat, that between me constantly attacking him and taking his vassal trades, he can't scrap buildings. The problem lies in the fact that losing combat doesn't prevent me from continuing to attack him afterwards, and since defensive firepower can't be tweaked yet, he hits me full-bore constantly while I can use 1 cannon volleys to constantly drain his coal until he has 0, then attack with no repercussions.

I'd also like to point out that I'm not doing this out of my own personal desires to troll everyone into submission here, I'm just experimenting with a way of playing that rast mentioned he was curious about, with regards to the impact on the game environment. I also didn't really enjoy teching up once the shield came down, since a few people fired some initial shots and took out key buildings, and with the economy buggerfucked at the time, it was too difficult to rebuild once the noob shield was down.

I've also backed myself into a corner with keeping this going until a world reset, as I've pissed off a share of people that would make it impossible for me to safely transition back to an economic "miner" playstyle, as opposed to my current "battler" implementation.

Just as a token of good faith, I'm taking your vassal trade less frequently (thanks xade!) and I'll bribe my way out of your vassalage next time you're able to win a combat against me.

I have a host of interesting things I'm going to do in response to this, but right now I am engaging a major infrastructure overhaul.
